Dental Service Assistant (Clinical)

The Dental Service Assistant (Clinical) is responsible for performing chair-side assisting tasks, including patient care, transferring instruments, setting up equipment, and preparing dental materials for dental treatment. The DSA is required to support the clinic coordinator to maintain and ensure the smooth function of the dental clinic.

Job Responsibilities - Specific

1. Assist Dentists

• Prepare the treatment room for dental treatment.
• Ensure patient records are organized and ready for the dentist before the arrival of patients.
• Chaperone dentists whenever required.
• Provide patient care education after dental procedures.

2. Maintain a high level of infection control in the dental clinic at all times.

• Clean and sterilize all used instruments.
• Maintain the facilities in the sterilization room.
• Replenish stocks in the sterilization room.

3. Ensure the proper opening and closing of dental clinics.

• Check electricity/water/compressor switches on at the beginning of the day and off at the end of the session.
• Clean and disinfect the dental chair before and after each patient.
• Clean and disinfect the dental chair at the end of the day.

4. Ensure that dental laboratory cases are processed and returned at least 1 day before the patient's actual appointment.

5. Assist the dentist in dental charting and medical history during dental examinations.

Job Responsibilities - General

• Be attentive to patients and direct patient feedback to the clinic coordinator/clinic manager.
• Assist the Clinic Coordinator or Cluster Manager in ad-hoc administrative matters, minute-taking for meetings, etc.
• Assist the Clinic Coordinator or Cluster Manager with monthly stock takes.

Job Requirements

• Minimum GCE ‘N’ / ‘O’ Levels, with 1 - 2 years of working experience in dental clinics.
• Proficient in English; knowledge of other languages or dialects will be advantageous.
• Good interpersonal skills with a pleasant disposition.
• Applicants must be service-oriented with a passion for the dental/healthcare industry.
• Must be able to work shift hours/on weekends & Public Holidays.
• Candidates with more experience will be considered for the Dental Service Officer position.
