About The Role - You Will

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented junior Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of data science principles and a passion for leveraging data to solve complex problems. As a junior Data Scientist, you will work closely with senior team members to analyze data, develop models, and generate actionable insights that drive business growth and innovation.

About You

1. Assist in the collection, cleaning, and preprocessing of large datasets from various sources.
2. Develop and implement basic machine learning models and algorithms under the guidance of senior data scientists.
3. Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.
5. Create data visualizations and reports to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and related technologies.
7. Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and continuous learning activities.

Your Experience Includes

1. Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
2. 0-2 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field (internships or academic projects are acceptable).
3. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
4. Basic understanding of machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large and complex datasets.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
7. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Location:

The Shugart site (named after Seagate’s founder, Al Shugart) is a research and design center. Easily accessible from the One-North MRT Station, many employees choose to take mass transportation to work. Being a purpose-built building, The Shugart has excellent employee recreational facilities. Take an active break at our badminton courts, table tennis tables, in-house gym, and recreation rooms. Our yoga and Zumba classes are very popular.
