Data Engineer (Azure, ETL)

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer for our client. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain data infrastructure while leading a team of Data Analysts. You will ensure effective reporting and analytics to support data-driven decision-making, leveraging expertise in Data Engineering and Analysis, along with leadership in Data Strategy and Analytics, including AI and ML.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for smooth data flow from multiple sources to data warehouses or lakes. Enable, maintain, and support unified and reliable data sources.
• Responsible for designing and maintaining data architecture. Utilize technologies, databases, and storage solutions for efficient and secure data handling.
• Perform Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) operations, including extracting data from various sources, transforming raw data into a structured format, and loading processed data into storage systems for analysis.
• Implement data cleaning and validation processes to enhance data accuracy and consistency. Monitor data quality and optimize performance for reliable data usage.
• Design systems capable of handling large data volumes. Ensure scalability of data infrastructure and optimize data storage and retrieval.
• Implement data governance and security measures for compliance. Create and manage policies, standards, and documentation.
• Manage projects related to Data Analytics deliverables. Create, publish, and administer Power BI reports and dashboards. Delegate, manage, and coordinate with the extended Data Analytics team.

Skillset and Experience Required

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, data analytics, or a similar role.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Expertise in SQL and experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency in data modeling and database management.
• Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
