Primary Function:
- Uses statistical and analytical methods plus AI tools to automate specific processes within the organization and develop smart solutions to business challenges.
- Use data and visualizations to provide guidance to product development and process development scientists for determining suitable process conditions to products.
- Collect, organize, and apply techniques to implement data analytics tools to support product development activities.
- Lead product and process technical support initiatives for the Abbott Pilot Plant (APP)
Major Responsibilities:
- Model development – Design and develop machine learning models using Azure tools, including Azure Machine Learning Studio. Preprocess data, select appropriate algorithms, train models, and fine-tune parameters to ensure accurate predictions.
- Feature engineering – Collaborate with data engineer(s) to build scalable and efficient data pipelines for training and testing. Explore and implement advanced techniques in data augmentation, regularization, and model compression.
- Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
- Develop data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systems.
- Processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysis.
- Collaborate with Business and IT teams.
- Develop data analytics visualizations tools to facilitate Product design review sessions.
- Collect, organize, and present manufacturability data to the cross-functional teams. Develop trend reports and give insights to product development activities.
- Work effectively and cooperatively with others; establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external partners. Provide honest, accurate feedback to peers & superiors, shares relevant information openly.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant fields.
- Min 3 years hands-on experience in data science tools and applications.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Prior exposure to manufacturing is advantageous.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to present results in a clear manner, and able to articulate business value and impact of data analytics programs.
- Demonstrated use of data and application of data analytical techniques and methodologies.
- Demonstrated project management skills related to continuous improvement.
