Data Center Network Specialist, Infrastructure Delivery

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for Network Specialists to support the scaling and growth of our network infrastructure.

This role is a unique opportunity to work in some of the most cutting-edge data centers in the world. Amazon data centers are large-scale high-density centers where you will be working on changing the face of Cloud technology in the region.

Infrastructure Delivery (ID) Network Specialists are part of the Infrastructure Operations Team, the backbone of AWS that supports our customers and their rapidly growing businesses by operating world-class data centers. Network Specialists lead projects to deploy, maintain, and expand the physical network infrastructure at AWS data centers. Key job responsibilities
Network Specialists are expected to work with established best practices to refine operational procedures, develop new tooling and constantly think proactively and innovatively which include:

1. Installing and troubleshooting of network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment of AWS
2. Performing assigned tasks during migrating networks in live environment
3. Performing cabling, labelling, certification and patching of server positions to network equipment
4. Performing inventory of onsite tools and materials
5. Managing work through ticketing system and workflows
6. Managing multiple projects simultaneously
7. Working closely with Network Engineering, Technical Program Managers, and other stakeholders to deliver projects
8. Designing the physical network interconnections to Amazon standards
9. Coordinating operations with other Data Center teams
10. Seeking out ways to improve yourself and improve the processes and systems we use

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1. Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies
2. Familiarity with TCP/IP networking and common networking terms

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Background in large scale datacenter network implementations and experience with major networking operating systems (Cisco IOS, JunOS, etc)
2. Experience with IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, LEAN, AGILE) and Operational Excellence concepts or methodologies
3. Experience working with various networking hardware such as multiplexers, routers, and switches
