Career Opportunities: Data Analytics/Sciences Project Intern, Internal Audit (Jan - Jun/Jul 2025) (11164)
This intern will support the Internal Audit (IA) team in executing data analytics, data sciences, and automation initiatives to enhance the way audits are conducted. They will be responsible for applying these various data analysis techniques with the help of innovative technology as part of broader audit transformation efforts.
Key responsibilities
Perform data extraction and transformation from various sources (structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data)
Design data models and execute data analytics procedures to identify trends, anomalies, and insights to support audit processes
Explore the application of natural language processing, unstructured data analytics, and other machine learning techniques to enhance audit procedures
Collaborate with team members to develop reporting and operational dashboards
Help identify opportunities to innovate and transform how audits are performed through automation and data-driven solutions
The incumbent will be able to gain the following competencies:
Experience in working with SaaS data cloud and reporting technologies such as Snowflake and Tableau
Experience in Robotic process Automation (RPA)
Experience in driving process alignment, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration
Real-world business application of data analytics/sciences, RPA, machine learning
Gain knowledge about the audit methodology, understanding of business processes, controls, and systems
Required qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in data extraction, transformation, and analysis using tools such as SQL, Python
Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
Strong communication skills and ability to articulate and present work effectively
Highly professional and discreet, able to maintain confidentiality on projects, especially when dealing with sensitive information
Detail-oriented, organized, able to manage multiple tasks effectively
Preferred qualifications
Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques and algorithms, unstructured data analysis and text mining
Experience with statistical analysis and hypothesis testing
Strong interest in exploring the application of generative AI and the use of large language models (LLMs) within the audit domain
Understanding of audit, risk, and fraud domain
