Data Analyst

Overall Job Purpose

Responsible for designing and building reports across MODEC’s data landscape, ensuring data accuracy, quality, and accessibility. The Data Analyst will gather and analyze business requirements, develop data models, and create insightful reports to support strategic decision-making. This role involves collaborating with various departments to understand their data needs, extracting and transforming data from multiple sources, and ensuring data governance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize complex SQL queries to generate reports directly from MODEC’s data platform.
• Ensure the accuracy, security and reliability of data used in generated reports, in compliance with local regulations and company policies.
• Support the creation of data visualization tools and dashboards, ensuring they are built on robust and reliable structures within MODEC’s data platform.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Management teams.
• Collaborate with business departments to understand their reporting requirements.

Secondary/Shared Accountabilities

• Conduct in-depth analyses to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Identify automation opportunities and manage departmental automation processes.
• Improve data collection models and ensure the performance of datasets.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including data dictionaries and report definitions.
• Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the Team Lead.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree of Statistics, Engineering, Administration, Mathematics, Accounting or Computer Science is expected.

Certifications

Microsoft PL-300 Exam (Power BI Data Analyst Associate) is a competitive edge.

Relevant Experience

• Previous experience of 2+ years with data analysis, dashboards creation, business intelligence activities is required.
• Programming skills is required.
• Knowledge of SQL is required.
• Advanced Power BI and Microsoft Office package knowledge is required.
• Previous experience in Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas area is a competitive edge.
• Phyton and PowerApps is a competitive edge.
