Job description

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

  • The Customer Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the development and implementation of customer-specific marketing programs with retailers to drive top-line sales objectives.
  • To translate category, channel, and consumer data and insights into actionable value propositions that deliver customer’s business objectives and brand goals.
  • To partner with the retail accounts to drive Category Captaincy/Management activities that maximize our in-store presence and increase off-take.
  • To identify retail opportunities and work closely with the trade sales team in maximizing them.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop consumer promotion strategy with proper action standards and measurement criteria.
  • Develop shopper engagement strategy to leverage the shopper/consumer touchpoints at the point of purchase.
  • Develop category-based propositions for key accounts to help drive category growth.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating Category Management activities.
  • Develop Trade Marketing Strategy and messaging to help achieve sales and distribution objectives.
  • Develop channel strategies for existing and new channels.
  • Formulate strategies for the deployment and management of PG’s and in-Store Activation Teams.
  • Develop sales plan for NPI and NPI tracking.
  • The conduit for Sales and Marketing to ensure activity is customer-centric and relevant for shoppers by channel and customer.
  • As a key stakeholder in managing the ROI process, perform ongoing business analysis and create recommendations for marketing mix elements and other business-building initiatives.
  • Ensure that the Trade Sales team flawlessly executes merchandising and category management activities.
  • Leverage category, channel, and consumer insights/trends to develop compelling selling stories, custom sales presentations, training and selling materials, and marketing communication.
  • Collaborate with retail marketing partners to ensure brand integrity across business channels, delivery of consistent brand messaging, and effective implementation of marketing assets.
  • Manage relationships with agency partners and other key vendors.
  • Participate in and lead sales meetings and customer presentations.
  • Assist in developing and executing customer plans; maintain account relationships.
  • Fiscally accountable for managing within an assigned budget.

Requirements

  • University degree, preferably in Marketing or Business.
  • 10 years relevant FMCG experience in trade sales, key account management, marketing, category management, and trade marketing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with good business acumen.
  • Strategic thinking ability with emphasis on sound tactical decision making.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage/lead multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external customers and partners.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong, effective relationships with customers and functional groups.
