Position Summary:The OceanX Marketing and Communications team is hiring a Creative Director to oversee all aspects of the organization's brand identity, including strategic planning and creative content. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing & Communication, the CD builds internal and external brand standards, ensuring strategic and high-quality audience experiences in various digital and physical environments and successfully bringing to fruition the systems needed to help build key audiences over time.
Directly sourcing and supervising a team of creative consultants and working across multiple stakeholders, the CD will serve as the organization's senior creative leader and drive the organization's visual output across all platforms, including print, digital, social, interior spaces, and multimedia.
Position Location:This position will be based in Singapore and will require flexible working hours (for meetings with stakeholders in the United States).
Duties and Responsibilities:- Work with the VP of Marketing & Communication and senior colleagues to formulate brand and creative strategies and to improve brand consistency across platforms.
- Manage, motivate, inspire a group of creatives, communications colleagues, and freelancers with diverse backgrounds.
- Set priorities and oversee the execution and development of creative assets supporting various teams and programming.
- Ensure timely and seamless execution of cross-functional projects; design flexible and iterative frameworks to foster collaboration.
- Demonstrate deep experience developing digital-first brands and content.
- Hire and manage key relationships and deliverables with creative and production vendors and freelancers.
- Contribute to the development, planning, implementation of creative team budgets.
- Demonstrate interest in and deep knowledge of contemporary design practice.
- Work with internal stakeholders and partner organizations to develop smart strategies, goals, and content for creative communication.
- Work directly with the co-CEOs and department leads on events and public engagements.
Qualifications:- Professional Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in design or related field, plus 10+ years of experience in design, agency, or in-house environment, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Ideal candidates would have Director or Manager roles in the past given scope of responsibility.
- Demonstrated interest in brand strategy and design in a mission-driven context.
- A minimum of five years of successfully managing or leading self-directed creative teams.
- Experience managing projects, consultancies, and budgets across multiple stakeholders with multiple deadlines.
- Strong working knowledge of user-centered design, brand development, and creative processes.
- Proficiency in all appropriate creative software (full suite of Adobe Creative Cloud).
- Knowledge of video editing or animation software is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience in producing ADA-compliant designs is a plus.
