Location: Singapore or Malaysia
Travel Requirements: Up to 50% (2 days to 1 week per trip, company-sponsored)
Team Size: Approximately 40 headcount across Singapore and Malaysia Sales Departments

About the Role:
As the Country Sales Director, you will lead the sales function across Singapore and Malaysia, driving market growth, customer acquisition, and retention strategies. This highly strategic role requires an experienced sales leader with a proven track record in the freight forwarding industry. You will define and implement long-term sales strategies that align with global objectives, optimize resource utilization, and ensure consistent revenue growth while building a high-performing, results-driven sales team.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  1. Develop and execute sales strategies with a long-term impact (5+ years) on business results, ensuring alignment with the organization’s overall business objectives and Group policies.
  2. Establish and communicate a clear market leadership position, vision, and strategic aspirations to both customers and internal stakeholders.
  3. Lead, oversee, and control highly strategic initiatives with significant influence on overall business performance and high-risk potential.

Sales Growth and Profitability:

  1. Define and cascade sales objectives to achieve financial targets, optimize profits, and deliver consistent business growth.
  2. Drive market acquisition and customer retention strategies to maximize sales performance.
  3. Approve country-level policies on pricing, product mix, and brand portfolio.
  4. Analyze key technologies, market trends, and industry developments to identify opportunities for growth and areas for improvement.

Operational Excellence:

  1. Establish effective processes and infrastructure to support sustainable growth, monitor competitive activity, and disseminate best practices.
  2. Implement systems for pipeline reporting, sales performance management, and resource optimization.
  3. Oversee critical sales projects, ensuring successful development, implementation, and delivery of results.

Customer Management:

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders to drive retention, growth, and collaboration.
  2. Support customer strategies, oversee contract negotiations, and align supply chain management strategies to meet business objectives.
  3. Lead cross-selling and integrated solution initiatives to address complex customer needs.

Leadership and Talent Development:

  1. Lead, coach, and develop a team of senior managers and managers within the sales department.
  2. Ensure talent selection, leadership effectiveness, and organizational alignment to achieve strategic objectives.
  3. Foster a culture of performance excellence, collaboration, and accountability across the sales teams.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

  1. Analyze complex challenges to drive innovation in sales methodologies, techniques, and processes.
  2. Champion initiatives that redefine operations and revenue-generation strategies in the country.
  3. Negotiate and approve critical agreements or contracts, adapting terms where necessary to align with business priorities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 10 years of experience in sales leadership roles within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
  3. Proven ability to define and execute complex, high-impact sales strategies across multi-country operations.
  4. Strong expertise in customer relationship management, contract negotiations, and strategic market development.
  5. Demonstrated success in leading large, geographically dispersed teams to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  6. Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally.
  7. High adaptability to frequent business travel across Singapore, Malaysia, and regional locations.
