Why is the role important to us:

SimCorp APAC is looking for a proven, results-driven and solution-oriented Country Manager/Head of Sales who will be accountable and fully responsible for the ‘functional sell’ of SimCorp product and services offers, to new SimCorp APAC clients. This will include having responsibility for the leadership, direction, and mentorship of the sales team and presales team on specific deals as well as working closely with the marketing function in region.

The role requires a broad understanding of various financial markets, ranging from trading, analytics, settlement, to performance measurement, risk management, fund administration and accounting. Due to the broad asset class coverage in SimCorp Dimension, there will be exposure to everything from straightforward equities and fixed income securities to more complex derivative, credit and OTC instruments.

What you will be responsible for:

The Country Manager/Head of Sales is assigned a given territory/industry segment or Portfolio of prospective clients within a Market Unit and he/she is primarily responsible for planning, qualifying, executing and driving winning sales campaigns. The Country Manager/Head of Sales works closely with PreSales, Services and other internal stakeholders to achieve new business sales targets through license sales and enabling service sales. The Country Manager/Head of Sales becomes the trusted advisor of the prospective client’s decision-making body where he/she is able to differentiate SimCorp’s offerings by teaching the prospective clients something new about their business that will lead to SimCorp’s unique benefits.

Your accountabilities include but will not be limited to:

  • Achievement of new and additional license revenue targets across Asia
  • Territory development ensuring all opportunities are qualified, developed and managed effectively through to closure of a sale
  • Research, analyse and confirm addressable market in Asia
  • Proactively support sales and marketing campaigns as defined by the global and regional marketing functions.
  • Maintain and update accurate information in Salesforce
  • Engage, along with the sales team, with the client and develop initial relationships to discover the opportunity. Partner with Marketing and enable Inside Sales to discover opportunities to drive pipeline creation.
  • Create and implement strategic and operational plans to improve the market position, product range, innovation sales support, brand awareness and customer focus to attract volume from competitors.
  • Articulate the need internally at SimCorp APAC. Understand the opportunity.
  • Identify that it is real. Qualify the opportunity.
  • Determine likelihood of a win. Assess the qualified opportunity.
  • Create pursuit team – including with the collaboration of senior locally and globally. Win the opportunity.
  • Ensure detailed information transfer from the sales process to the implementation team after a contract has been signed.
  • Be knowledgeable about different areas in SimCorp offers and become an expert in the value propositions of our solutions.
  • Be an active part of negotiating contract pricing and overall responsibility for legal matters.
  • Lead, coach, motivate and develop the team to deliver effective and robust marketing strategies that leverage the core values and create strong competitive advantage.
  • Explore new routes to market – identifying and exploiting new technologies, services and partnerships to maximise revenue opportunities.
  • Identifying and prioritising key players and top targets and corresponding opportunities of growth in line with broader SimCorp product growth objectives.

What we value:

Above all, your ability to thrive in and contribute to this role is paramount. Your skills' origins are less critical; however, we expect proficiency in several of the following areas, with an eagerness to learn:

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree, advanced degrees preferred, and a demonstrated interest and ability to engage in solutions-oriented discussion with senior leaders of the fund industry
  • Previous experience in a Sales role is critical.
  • Previous enterprise sales experience with hands-on experience producing quality output in a fast-paced organization managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with the senior most leaders of the funds that are based in APAC – mutual funds, pension funds, insurance funds – for accounts in your addressable market.
  • Ability to learn/gain a deep understanding of the different business issues the SimCorp offerings solve – industry acumen and subject matter comfort, if not expertise, is a must.
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically. The ability to work with and lead a sales process; choosing the best strategies for the organization and then successfully implementing the sales tactics through and with the deal team in order to achieve those strategies.
  • Balance of people, selling and relationship development skills, along with enough understanding of the core product solution and other services the company offers in order to differentiate SimCorp in the market and compel prospects towards interest and ongoing participation/revenue generation.
  • Demonstrated experience actively leading the lifecycle of the sales process including accurately updating sales forecast, managing salesforce.com and facilitating the weekly sales meeting to promote collaboration, accountability and progress.
  • Excellent customer relations and relationship management skills with the ability to focus on and understand customer requirements within the context of SimCorp's highly scalable solution.
  • Ability to identify market trends that may have an impact on corporate sales techniques.
