Job description

JOB PURPOSE

Conduct dyadic counselling support for individuals, couples & families (at low to moderate level of complexity), utilising person-centred and/or systemic and/or Emotional Focused Therapy and/or other suitable modalities supported by the organization. Participate by sharing in training & outreach events.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Centre level responsibilities

  1. Provide dyadic counselling support services for individuals, couples and families in low to moderate complexity cases.
  2. Develop and manage counselling cases and develop care plans.
  3. Assess clients' level of functioning, planning and goal settings.
  4. Assess clients' level of risks and needs, and system intervention for clients.
  5. Conduct needs analysis in the community, plan and support outreach events.
  6. Maintain ethical practices in accordance with the Code of Ethics.
  7. Support Care Corner leaders in service planning and practice standards management.
  8. Support Care Corner leadership in team building and development.
  9. Any other duty as assigned by the centre.

Service Group level responsibilities

  1. Work closely with and alongside inter-services, i.e. Community Counselling Unit, Insight (Youth Mental Health) and Hotline.
  2. Contribute towards Corporate events and activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL/PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  1. Formal Education: Master in Counselling.
  2. Work Experience: 1 - 3 years of relevant counselling experience in education, counselling, social work or related work (Mental Health, Family, Couple, Elderly, Divorce, EFCT).
  3. Technical / Professional Skills and Knowledge:

  5. Knowledge and ability to engage and facilitate dyadic work.
  6. Knowledge and ability to handle cases with low to moderate complexity.
  7. Knowledge of one modality of therapy and the ability to understand and apply conceptual map to direct the therapeutic process.
  8. Ability to demonstrate reflective practice.
  9. Able to manage ethical concerns with minimal guidance.
  • Able to speak, read and write simple Chinese to attend to Mandarin speaking clients and Hotline volunteers.
