Job Description & Requirements
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cost Estimation & Feasibility Analyst to join our team. This role involves evaluating the financial viability of construction projects, particularly in dormitory and hostel developments. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of construction cost estimation, financial analysis, and market research to support informed decision-making and sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cost Estimation & Analysis:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for dormitory and hostel construction projects, covering both structural and interior elements.
- Collaborate with contractors, architects, and project teams to gather accurate cost data.
- Develop comprehensive cost breakdowns, including labour, materials, permits, and other construction-related expenses.
- Adjust estimates based on evolving project requirements and market dynamics.
2. Feasibility Studies:
- Conduct financial feasibility analyses, calculating metrics such as Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and Return on Investment (ROI).
- Assist the Business Development Manager in evaluating potential projects against profitability and financial benchmarks.
- Prepare financial models, cash flow projections, and budget analyses to assess project viability.
3. Market Research & Competitor Analysis:
- Research market trends and competitor pricing to support strategic planning.
- Generate reports that inform decision-making regarding new investments or potential expansion.
- Identify market demands and provide insights into cost-effective project opportunities.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with design, construction, and operations teams to ensure cost projections align with project plans.
- Track project progress with project managers, implementing cost control measures as necessary.
5. Documentation & Reporting:
- Create detailed reports, presentations, and proposals for internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Maintain up-to-date records of cost estimates, feasibility analyses, and project budgets.
- Provide regular updates on the financial status of ongoing projects, highlighting any variances or cost-saving opportunities.
6. Financial Analysis & Budget Management:
- Assist in managing project budgets to ensure adherence to approved costs.
- Analyze expenses and suggest cost-saving strategies without compromising project quality.
- Develop pricing models that consider market conditions, construction costs, and expected returns.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Project Management, or related field
- Proficiency in construction cost estimation, project budgeting, and financial analysis
- Advanced skills in MS Excel (for financial modeling, budgeting, and analysis) and familiarity with construction management tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Effective time management, organizational, and project coordination skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
