Description

Avaya seeks to add a highly talented individual to its International Legal Team supporting the company's business in Asia Pacific. The primary job responsibility of this Corporate Counsel position is providing general in-house legal support (e.g., on corporate, data protection, regulatory or HR matters) as well as providing strategic advice and counsel to business clients in several jurisdictions in Asia Pacific. You will also be responsible for adjusting and translating Avaya’s global contract templates and providing negotiation and transactional support for our business. You will work collaboratively with the respective business organizations in the region and the broader legal and contracting team globally to ensure best-in-class support to our partners and customers. This position is based in Singapore and requires an independent, self-motivated, and well-organized person who also manages the legal-related administrative work. In this role, you will report to the Associate General Counsel EMEA & APAC.

Minimum Requirements

  • Law degree
  • At least 2-3 years of commercial legal experience under private practice or in-house with an international environment.
  • Excellent command of Business English
  • Independent work capability, self-motivated, result-driven, open-minded, collaborative, and sensitive to multicultural working environments; excellent team player
  • Excellent negotiation and contract drafting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to balance legal and business considerations, problem-solve, and operate largely independently in a diverse and fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, time management skills, attention to detail, and sense of urgency
  • Ability to think creatively, identify solutions, take ownership of tasks, and adapt to changing business requirements
  • High level of accountability and integrity

Helpful Skills and Experience

  • Data Privacy and Telco Regulatory Experience preferred
  • Experience negotiating Cloud and Software as a Service deals
