Conduct in-depth analysis to identify emerging technologies, trends, and industry best practices related to building automation and control systems.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in control algorithms, software platforms, hardware components, and integration protocols.
Develop and implement software applications for control systems, including programming, coding, and scripting. Create algorithms and logic to optimize system performance, energy consumption, and occupant comfort. Utilize programming languages, Matlab, Python as well as automation platforms Schneider or Tridium Niagara.
Conduct thorough testing and validation of control system components, software applications, and integrated solutions. Perform simulations, modeling, and hardware-in-the-loop testing to verify system functionality, performance, and reliability.
Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions to validate new ideas, concepts, and technologies.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, project managers, clients, and vendors. Coordinate and manage POC projects, ensuring deliverables are achieved within specified timelines and budgets.
Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, research reports, presentations, and user manuals. Communicate research findings, project updates, and technical recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Design and architect control systems for building automation, including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), lighting, security, access control, and energy management. Define system requirements, specifications, and performance metrics.
Qualifications and Skills:
Strong interest in Automation and Energy technologies.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Control Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience in building automation control system design, development, and implementation.
Strong Function block, script, or ladder programming skills.
Familiarity with automation platforms like Schneider, Tridium Niagara or similar.
Knowledge of control algorithms, feedback control systems, and optimization techniques.
Experience with software development methodologies and tools.
Understanding of building systems, including HVAC, lighting, energy management, and access control.
Proficiency in system modeling and simulation tools (MATLAB, IESVE, Energy Plus).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues.
Knowledge of industry standards and protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, etc.
Familiarity with emerging trends in building automation, IoT, and cloud-based solutions.
