Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. Developing a comprehensive works plan that encompasses the entire project scope, including all deliverables, milestones, and deadlines.
  2. Coordinating with the Project Manager and other stakeholders to ensure that the work plan is consistent with the Project’s goals, objectives, and timeline.
  3. Identifying and analyzing the project’s resource requirements, including material, manpower, equipment, and subcontractors, and developing a resource allocation plan to ensure that these resources are utilized effectively and efficiently.
  4. Establishing performance metrics, milestones, and targets to measure progress against the work plan, and ensuring that these are communicated to the project team and other stakeholders.
  5. Developing a detailed segmental methodology for each major activity, in consultation with the Project Manager and project engineering teams, to ensure that each activity is completed in line with the contract methodology and quality standards.
  6. Developing and implementing a Quality Plan in accordance with project requirements and industry best practices, ensuring that all quality control procedures are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
  7. Ensuring overall delivery of works as per timelines, project specifications, procedures, and quality standards.
  8. Overseeing timely allocation of resources as per requirements for works (Manpower, material, and equipment).
  9. Monitoring physical progress of the works at various sections as per planned & budget and specifications.
  10. Identifying opportunities for application of good engineering practices/ innovative practices to enhance quality of delivery.
  11. Identifying opportunities for increase in turnover/ Project margins with respect to works.
  12. Completion of works within budgeted cost.
  13. Assisting the Quantity Survey department in the measurement of work completed for timely billing and liaison for payment realization.
  14. Ensuring optimum usage of equipment allocated.
  15. Overseeing optimum usage of material as per construction schedule; identifying areas for waste reduction and implementing measures to minimize wastage.
  16. Ensuring wastage of major materials within the norms by doing monthly reconciliation of major materials in coordination with stores, site, and QS department.
  17. Overseeing activities of personnel for the works department; ensuring availability of personnel by raising timely requisitions to the respective departments. Raising indent for materials well in advance and arranging to get with the coordination with stores.
  18. Regular and effective Sub-contractor management and development.
  19. Developing and maintaining positive relationships with subcontractors, communicating expectations clearly, and ensuring timely and quality performance.
  20. Identifying and assessing project risks and issues.
  21. Developing and implementing risk mitigation plans and strategies.
  22. Monitoring and tracking project risks and issues.
  23. Communicating risks and issues to Project Manager, and suggesting corrective actions.
  24. Adopting a value engineering approach in the project with the help of Project Manager by having a detailed analysis of how best to meet the goals by eliminating unnecessary cost, providing the highest value at the lowest cost by promoting substitution of materials and methods, capital, staffing, maintenance over the life of the project with less expensive alternatives, without sacrificing quality and functionality by taking all the stakeholders in confidence.
  25. Adopting project acceleration initiatives with the help of Project Manager and team members through increasing work hours, adding more resources at times and monitoring productivity per resource, reallocating resources from other tasks, exercising reduction of resources in an agile manner after the task ends, and addressing inefficiencies in the project in terms of manpower, equipment, and materials wastage.
  26. Monitoring safety during execution of the project adhering to the norms of the clients & HSE policy.
  27. Emphasizing zero tolerance regarding safety in execution.
  28. Emphasizing safety workshops, safety drills, safety awareness, regular toolbox talks, etc.
  29. Encouraging a culture of continuous learning and development, and documenting lessons learnt from the project on an ongoing basis.
  30. Abiding by the Environmental, Safety, and Health regulations (Internal & External).

Requirements:

  1. Diploma in Electrical Engineering and minimum 5 years of relevant working experience or GCE ‘O” or Nitec holders in relevant engineering and minimum 8 years of relevant working experience.
  2. Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  3. Capable of reading electrical drawings, construction drawings, and 3D BIM Modelling.
  4. Good interpersonal, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  5. Able to work independently.
  6. Knowledge in BIM / AutoCAD skills will be an advantage.
  7. Good oral and written communication skills.
  8. Good Microsoft Office knowledge and skills.
