As Head of Finance, you will oversee the full spectrum of the organisation’s financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial planning, statutory audits, reporting, and regulatory compliance, working closely with both internal teams and external vendors.

As the finance lead and business partner, you will collaborate with different departments providing financial advice and support the organisation’s long-term stability and growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Reporting & Compliance
   • Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement) and present financial reports to senior management and committee.
   • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, fostering a culture of financial accountability within the organisation.
   • Plan and coordinate the annual financial audit process, including resolution of issues arising from audit findings and liaison with internal and external auditors.
   • Maintain and regularly review the system of accounting and purchasing policies and procedures to ensure relevance and compliance.
2. Planning & Strategy
   • Develop and implement the organisation’s financial strategies, including medium and long-term financial planning, annual budgeting, and forecasting to support financial sustainability.
   • Manage cash flow and oversee investments to assess their impact on the organisation’s financial position.
3. Process Improvement & Stakeholder Management
   • Evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of financial systems and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, streamlining, and automation.
   • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors.

Requirements

1. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional qualification, preferred.
2. Minimum of 7 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
3. Proven track record in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
5. Experience in managing government-funded programmes, including ensuring compliance with funding regulations, preparing reports for funding agencies, and coordinating related audits, would be an advantage.
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with hands-on experience in accounting systems and data analysis tools.
8. Motivated to work in an environment to help communities-at-large.
