Compliance Officer (Private Banking, Contract)

Charterhouse is supporting a Private Bank to source for a Compliance Officer. Reporting to the Head of AML, the incumbent will take ownership in reviewing client onboarding documents and performing source of wealth assessments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. You will take on a primary role in KYC and client onboarding while providing training and advice to the business on these topics.

2. You will be tasked to identify and address control weaknesses through ongoing reviews and monitoring of the AML/S/CFT/ABC control framework from both group and local regulatory perspectives.

3. Conduct regular reviews and surveillance on Compliance and AML/CFT/ABC controls framework, covering aspects such as client acceptance, periodic review processes, transaction monitoring, payment filtering, client screening clearance, timely STR filing, and maintenance of registers, business activities, processes, enterprise-wide risk assessment, and high-risk transactions reviews.

4. Independently and comprehensively review client information, conduct plausibility checks, corroborate sources of wealth and funds, and address identified gaps.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Min. Degree

• Min. 7 years of relevant experience in general compliance and financial crime compliance, preferably in a private bank. Familiarity with Greater China market is preferred.

• A keen interest to learn and perform general compliance matters.

• Good interactive, communication, and writing skills.

• Able to provide alternative solutions to the business.
