What you will be responsible for:
- Report to CEO, leading the Global Compliance function across all locations where we have office presence e.g. in APAC, US and Europe region.
- Leading strategic direction, training, and advisory support regarding Compliance, liaising with external counsels to set up legal and compliance frameworks for operations.
- Drive the regulatory engagement agenda and serve as the point of contact with relevant local regulators on compliance-related topics e.g. data privacy, consumer protection.
- Oversee and manage compliance with the listing obligations in US Nasdaq.
- Respond to inquiries pertaining to listing rules and/or issuers from internal and external stakeholders.
- Work with business key stakeholders to develop, implement, maintain, and review robust compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Engage and advise all business stakeholders on their existing and ongoing compliance obligations with respect to regulatory standards and implement an effective compliance management program in line with global standards and industry best practices.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the businesses and their activities to ensure adequate compliance oversight and resources as business needs evolve; advise executive management teams on emerging regulatory and compliance issues.
- Conduct regulatory risk assessments and improve ongoing business processes to meet commercial standards and ensure full compliance with local regulations.
- Conduct internal compliance training and education programs as needed.
- Lead and contribute to various compliance-related projects, including liaising with in-house teams to enhance the company’s systems and AML-related systems.
- Design and implement regulatory and KYC/AML compliance frameworks to ensure the firm is compliant with its regulatory obligations.
- Work with Operations, Legal, and Business teams to remediate incidents of non-compliance, ensuring that suspicious activities are promptly investigated and handled appropriately.
- Assist business owners in understanding their compliance obligations and conduct risk assessments on business operations and processes to identify any gaps or risks, resolving them timely and appropriately.
How you will stand out:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, Economics, and/or Legal.
- At least 8-10 years of experience in Legal and Compliance fields.
- Prior experience in leading and being involved in the company listing process is highly preferred.
- Prior experience in business operations and/or product design compliance is an advantage.
- Familiarity with US Nasdaq listing regulations and standards is preferred.
- Experience in technology, financial services, and/or in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is an advantage.
- A strategic thinker and analytical in your approach to developing strategies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels and across functions and cultures.
- Adaptability to multiple projects with changing priorities.
