Job description
We are seeking an experienced Compliance Counsel/Officer to join our well-established team, with a focus on Southeast Asia (SEA). While the role specifically covers SEA, you will report to the APAC Head of Compliance, who has a broader regional remit. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing compliance programs, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, and leading internal investigations within the SEA region. A strong background in anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws is essential, and legal qualifications (Singapore Bar) are advantageous but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the APAC Head of Compliance in implementing and maintaining compliance programs, with a primary focus on the SEA region.
Ensure compliance with anti-bribery and anti-corruption (ABAC) regulations, offering expertise on relevant local and international laws.
Lead and conduct internal investigations related to compliance concerns, including potential ABAC violations and other risks.
Develop and deliver compliance training and awareness programs tailored for SEA stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the business to provide advice on compliance risks in the SEA region.
Assist in reviewing and updating company policies and procedures to ensure alignment with SEA regulatory requirements and global standards.
Monitor regulatory developments within SEA and advise on necessary adjustments to compliance programs.
Prepare reports and presentations on compliance activities and risk assessments for senior management and stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, with a strong focus on anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws.
Legal qualification (Singapore Bar) is preferred but not mandatory.
Demonstrated experience in conducting internal investigations and managing compliance risks.
In-depth knowledge of SEA regulations, particularly ABAC laws and corporate governance.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger regional team.
Experience in SEA is highly regarded, with a solid understanding of local regulatory environments.
