The Company Financials team provides our clients with fast and accurate market-moving data so they can stay on top of their game: broker estimates, financial filings, and any other dataset that is useful to understand financial performance in the markets. Our products run on intelligence and industry-specific insights provided by the industry teams. The Role:
Company Financials Market Data Team is looking for a Data Analyst that seeks to optimizes the value of our data by applying domain knowledge and technical expertise, to structure and standardize a wide variety of data sources into data models and insights that support our customer's decision making and analysis workflows.
The Company Financials Markets Data Team analyst is expected to apply data management best practices across a wide range of data sets, and to deliver quality data that is ready to use and fit-for-purpose for Bloomberg's clients. You'll need to drive the development of financial knowledge, industry knowledge, data analytics, data engineering and more. You are expected to be part of a high performance culture that will foster your team to execute on the department and Market-specific strategy. This position requires extensive collaboration with global colleagues, and partners across business units.
We'll trust you to:
- Combine subject matter expertise and technical skills to generate insights
- Collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders from Engineering to Sales on product development and implementation
- Understand our customers' needs and markets to ensure data is fit for purpose, ready for use, and meets service level agreements (SLAs)
- Coordinate and implement fast-paced data annotation and related workflows
- Be responsive, resourceful, flexible, and an excellent collaborator
- Balance the best of technical and product knowledge to implement solutions for customers
- Implement quality control strategies including development of quality control rules
- Proactively support customers by helping them interpret data and predicting their follow up questions/needs
- Contribute to the creation of best practices and guidelines for governance
- Contribute to continuous improvement by generating ideas to improve our data products and/or associated processes
- Train and mentor other team members
You'll need to have:
- 1-3 years of recent market data experience in the financial services industry, including exchanges, market data providers or financial institutions
- Demonstrated experience in data management, for example improving data quality, accuracy, efficiency or timeliness
- Business proficiency or above in Bahasa Indonesia as your primary coverage will be Indonesian client
- A bachelor's degree or higher in relevant Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, STEM, or degree-equivalent qualifications
- Strong interest/knowledge in financial and economic data
- Strong attention to details, proven decision-making ability, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively, ensuring a high level of accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to spot market trends and act on them to enhance depth and breadth of coverage
- Proven understanding of customer service and engagement
- Project management experience with the ability to deliver on tight deadlines
- Use judgment to escalate issues as they arise
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organisation
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
We'd love to see: - Master's degree in relevant field and/or CFA designation (or working towards it)
- Experience or knowledge in Bloomberg Company Financials products, Bloomberg terminal fluency, and/or Bloomberg data workflows
- Experience using data visualization tools such as QlikSense and PowerBI
- Understanding of Data Governance and Data Management
