We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Communications Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess excellent language skills and relevant experience in translation as well as marketing and communications-related roles.

You will support our team in the implementation of the Bank’s communication strategy and employee engagement initiatives. You will also be involved in the production of a wide range of content types for both online and offline communication efforts.

Additionally, you will be required to translate materials from English to Simplified Chinese and/or Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong), accurately and efficiently. You will also have the opportunity to work on an innovative AI-driven project to enhance our translation capabilities.

You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Head of Communications, the candidate’s main responsibilities are to:

• Create and manage communications materials and assets, including videos, EDMs, publications, newsletters, and more.
• Support employee engagement and leadership communication initiatives such as CEO townhalls, by managing the logistics and preparing content.
• Translate research and marketing documents from English to Simplified Chinese and/or Traditional Chinese while retaining the original message.
• Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling, and punctuation accuracy.
• Maintain a glossary of financial terminologies, specific to the Bank, for translation purposes.
• Utilise translation software/tools to ensure the consistency of translations within documents and help increase efficiency.
• Support the formatting and delivery of translations.
• Proven work experience as a translator.
• Effectively bilingual to handle translation of English and Simplified/Traditional Chinese.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of financial terminologies.
• Experience in the financial services sector, preferably within a private banking or wealth management field, is preferred.
• Meticulous with a high attention to detail.
• Adaptable and resourceful, with good multi-tasking skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with at least one computer-assisted translation (CAT) tool or translation management system (TMS).
• Experience with tools like Acrobat InDesign/Illustrator is a plus.
