Job description

We are seeking a Commis Cook with a passion for pastry to join our culinary team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who have a foundational understanding of kitchen operations and a keen interest in creating high-quality pastry items. The Commis Cook will assist in preparing and presenting both savory dishes and pastries while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and quality.

What you will expect:

  1. Mise en place
  2. Assist in the preparation, baking, and presentation of pastries/desserts
  3. Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food
  4. Prepare and cook a variety of dishes under the guidance of the team, ensuring consistency and quality
  5. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and adherence to food safety standards
  6. Work effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service
  7. Monitor food quality during preparation and service to ensure it meets the restaurant's standards
  8. Continuously learn new techniques and recipes

Skills/Qualifications:

  1. Entry level candidates are welcome to apply
  2. Be able to work in a team-based and fast-paced environment
  3. Recognized culinary academic qualifications will be an added advantage
  4. Positive attitude

5 Days work/week rostered, must be able to work weekends.
Time: 10.30am to 3pm and 5.30pm to 10.30pm (Split Shift) - 44 Hours/Week
