Commercial Manager

Responsibilities:

• Identify and mitigate risks in contract terms, providing expert advice on contract clauses, obligations, and liabilities.
• Evaluate contractual risks and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, staying informed of changes in construction and contract law.
• Oversee the full contract lifecycle from initiation through project completion and closeout.
• Monitor contract performance to ensure deliverables meet quality, cost, and timeline requirements.
• Manage variations, claims, and scope changes, assessing their impact on contract terms and project objectives.
• Ensure contract budgets align with financial targets by tracking project expenses and revenue.
• Approve and process payments to contractors and subcontractors, ensuring accurate billing and invoicing.
• Serve as the main point of contact for contract matters with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Communicate contract requirements, modifications, and potential issues clearly to all stakeholders.
• Address conflicts and disputes that arise during project execution, collaborating with legal teams as needed.
• Ensure fulfillment of all contractual obligations, conducting regular compliance audits.
• Supervise and mentor junior contract managers, providing guidance on complex contract matters.
• Lead training sessions for the team on best practices in contract management, risk mitigation, and compliance.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
• At least 10 years of experience in contract management and administration, specifically in the construction industry
• Extensive expertise in contract negotiation and administration
• Relevant experience in both public and private sector projects in Singapore
• Experience managing subcontracts effectively
