Position Statement

The Commercial Director is responsible for the overall strategic management of the hotel by establishing effective working relationships with senior team members, in particular the General Manager, Hotel Manager, Director of Finance and Director of Human Resources. This role provides support and advice to the General Manager in strategic planning and overall business goals relating to business development issues of the brand and the hotel, protecting and ensuring corporate standards compliance, brand integrity and hotel image.

What will you be doing?

As the Commercial Director, you will be responsible to lead the function with integrity and credibility for the following areas:

People Management

• You will manage human resources within the department, overseeing recruitment, training, team building, and performance evaluations to foster a productive and cohesive team. It's crucial to ensure that your team understands their responsibilities and takes corrective actions when necessary. Additionally, you will implement personal skill development and performance review trainings to enhance team members’ capabilities. Ensuring employees follow hotel safety policies and procedures is also a key part of maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Product Innovation

• You will create marketing strategies and promotion plans that adapt to real-time market situations, supervising and driving the team’s progress and success. Regular market research should be conducted to keep relevant on current market, competitors and industry trends. Additionally, you will manage special projects and other related businesses, promoting the hotel in relevant industries both domestically and internationally. You may be expected to organize promotional trips for target markets to enhance the hotel’s visibility and appeal.

Revenue Management

• You will provide a strategic vision through effective communication to maximize sales opportunities and drive the overall business success. You will aim to achieve all key metrics, such as profitability, revenue, profit, and guest and team member satisfaction. It is expected for you to develop and implement budget forecasts and work plans, set pricing strategies and sales targets, and monitor and evaluate current business activities and market dynamics. This includes maintaining and managing departmental expenses and budgets for the best cost and resource optimization.
