Job Description:

The specialist needs to perform operating CNC EDM machines to manufacture precision components and parts. To accomplish work requirements, the specialist will need to interpret engineering drawings & specifications, set up requirements including preparing setup sheets, fixtures, and tools clamping systems to determine the right program to achieve dimensions and tolerances for the work order. Another critical aspect of the job involves detecting faults and making adjustments on machines to ensure that they operate smoothly; and being able to select, align, and secure holding fixtures, accessories, and materials. A good team player who can work effectively in a team would be beneficial for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Define technical specifications and blueprints
2. Use approved methods of machining in manufacturing
3. Perform EDM wire cut machine operations
4. Perform CNC programs
5. Handle basic hand tools, measurement devices, and equipment
6. Carry out dimensional and geometric measurements
7. Conduct routine maintenance of machines and tools
8. Spot hazards and uphold risk control measures
9. Carry out working environmental clean practices
10. Carry out Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policy
11. Ad hoc duties instructed by supervisor

Requirements

1. Ability to read and interpret engineering (AUTOCAD) or 3D drawings will be an added advantage.
2. Diploma or equivalent of certificate or Higher Nitec in precision engineering
3. 5 years working experience in a relevant field
4. Industry proficient in 2D/3D dimensional programming, geometric measurements, and CMM
5. Resourceful and adaptive to work requirements
6. A problem solver and organized team player with good communication skills
