JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Cluster General Manager, the Cluster Director of Facilities is responsible for overseeing the engineering, security, fire safety, landscaping, sustainability practices, HACCP compliance, and Green Globe certification across multiple hotels. This role ensures the highest standards of maintenance, safety, security, environmental responsibility, and aesthetic appeal are met, contributing to the overall guest experience and operational efficiency.
What you will be DOING:
Engineering Management
· Oversee the maintenance and repair of all hotel facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and structural elements.
· Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and efficiency of hotel assets.
· Manage engineering budgets and ensure cost-effective solutions are applied.
· Integrate sustainable engineering practices to minimize environmental impact and enhance energy efficiency.
Security Management
· Ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and hotel property.
· Develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
· Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
· Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
Fire Safety Management
· Implement and maintain fire safety protocols and procedures.
· Ensure compliance with local fire safety regulations.
· Conduct regular fire drills and training sessions for staff.
· Oversee the maintenance of fire safety equipment and systems.
Sustainability and Green Practices
· Implement and promote green practices throughout hotel operations, including energy conservation, waste reduction, and water management.
· Develop and oversee sustainability initiatives to reduce the hotel's carbon footprint and enhance operational efficiency.
· Collaborate with other departments to integrate sustainable practices into daily operations.
· Oversee the implementation and maintenance of Green Globe certification standards and ensure compliance.
· Work closely with the Cluster Sustainability Manager and coordinate with third-party auditors to verify compliance.
HACCP Compliance
· Work closely with the stakeholders to ensure compliance with HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) principles to maintain high standards of food safety
· Conduct regular audits and training sessions to ensure staff adherence to HACCP guidelines.
Compliance and Reporting
· Ensure all facilities operations comply with local statutory regulations.
· Prepare and present regular reports on facilities operations, safety incidents, maintenance activities, sustainability initiatives, HACCP compliance, and Green Globe certification.
· Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
Landscaping Management
· Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of hotel grounds.
· Ensure landscaping contributes to the aesthetic appeal and environmental sustainability of the properties.
· Coordinate with landscaping contractors and suppliers to ensure high-quality service.
Project Management
· Undertake renovation and/or ad-hoc special project as assigned.
· Conduct feasibility study and implement specific building/engineering projects where applicable.
General
· Lead, manage, supervise and coach the Engineering and Security teams.
· Conduct performance review for the Engineering and Security teams.
· Conduct on-the-job training for the Engineering and Security teams.
· Plan duty roster effectively and productively.
· Conduct department meeting / daily shift meeting.
· Observe all brand/operating standards and/or LQA.
· Follow all workplace safety and security policies and procedures. Report accidents, injuries and incidents to security / talent & culture team immediately.
· Participate & contribute actively in all Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability initiatives organised by the Hotel.
· Perform any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.
Your experience and skills include:
· Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
· Minimum 10 years of relevant hospitality engineering and security working experience in a senior managerial appointment
· Qualified Fire Safety Manager Certification will be an added advantage
· Strong knowledge of engineering systems, security protocols, fire safety regulations, landscaping practices, sustainability, HACCP principles, and Green Globe certification standards.
