Clinical Laboratory Manager

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Set up and manage the clinical laboratory with MOH license and other licenses such as College of American Pathologists (CAP), fire safety, etc.
2. Carry out day-to-day laboratory operations.
3. Establish, implement and maintain laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
4. Carry out validation and monitoring of test procedures and protocols to achieve required precision and accuracy.
5. Perform, record and interpret results of quality control procedures.
6. Carry out and monitor corrective and preventive action implementations.
7. Establish and carry out risk assessment for the laboratory.
8. Set up and manage laboratory information management system (LIMS).
9. Liaise with partners to carry out laboratory audits and proficiency testing.
10. Troubleshoot and resolve laboratory issues.
11. Manage laboratory inventory, including procurement of consumables, reagents, equipment, and fixtures.
12. Liaise with vendors on the servicing, maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment.
13. Ensure upkeep of the laboratory premise.
14. Recruit, train and manage clinical laboratory staff.
15. Coordinate clinical and research projects with partners and clients.
16. Plan and monitor the laboratory operations budget and P&L.

Requirements:

1. Degree in Biochemistry, Biomedical Science, Medical Laboratory Technology or related discipline.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
3. Experience in setting up laboratory for MOH license or other accreditations.
4. Good laboratory and strong analytical skills.
5. Able to work independently and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
6. Meticulous and well-organized.
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Highly motivated and willing to learn.
