Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Client Engagement Manager to lead and deliver complex projects while managing client relationships. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong delivery management skills, financial oversight capabilities, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams in agile environments. The ideal candidate will balance delivery excellence with client satisfaction, driving business growth and operational success.

Works in the area of Software Engineering, which encompasses the development, maintenance and optimization of software solutions/applications.

  1. Applies scientific methods to analyse and solve software engineering problems.
  2. Responsible for the development and application of software engineering practice and knowledge, in research, design, development and maintenance.
  3. Exercises original thought and judgement and supervises the technical and administrative work of other software engineers.
  4. Builds skills and expertise in software engineering discipline to meet standard expectations for the role.
  5. Collaborates and acts as a team player with other software engineers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring expectations are managed and exceeded.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders, ensuring timely communication and effective escalation when needed.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing client accounts, supporting pre-sales efforts, proposals, and RFPs.
  • Ensure Service Overview Documents accurately reflect responsibilities, protect Capgemini’s interests, and align with client needs.

Project Delivery & Leadership:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they meet agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Oversee project resources, collaborating with Practices, Staffing, Operations, and third-party vendors to ensure timely resource fulfillment.
  • Drive delivery excellence through agile and DevOps methodologies, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with client goals.
  • Manage project finances — ensuring projects adhere to financial policies, track against budgets, and deliver profitability.
  • Balance conflicting demands while keeping the team focused on outcomes and key deliverables.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of overall experience, with 1-3 years specifically in client engagement and project delivery.
  • Proven track record of managing 2-3 agile or DevOps projects successfully.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills — able to engage with senior clients confidently.
  • Experience with pre-sales, proposal writing, and crafting Statements of Work (SOWs) across Application Development (AD), Application Maintenance (AM), and Testing.
  • Financial acumen — able to manage project budgets, track spending, and ensure profitability.
  • Risk management mindset — able to anticipate issues, mitigate risks, and ensure smooth delivery.
  • Experience leading large, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
