Job Summary
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, Singapore, and the CI Asia leadership team, with a matrix reporting line to the Head of Finance APAC, you will primarily serve as a member of the Singapore executive team and the Commercial Insurance (CI) Asia leadership team.
In your primary role as CFO Singapore, you will be accountable and responsible for the financial & capital management, reporting, performance, governance, and controls of BU Singapore. You will provide expert insight to the country and regional leadership teams.
Additionally, in your business partner role, you will be responsible for the financial performance management of CI Asia. This includes Finance input and support to the development of the CI Asia strategy and other business initiatives. The business will look to you to represent Finance and deliver timely, accurate, and relevant business insights.
Job AccountabilitiesAs CFO Singapore:
  • Be accountable and responsible for the sign-off and process of statutory/regulatory reporting for Singapore to ensure that any relevant regulatory requirements are adhered to.
  • Manage balance sheet, profit & loss, and statistical items required by Group to ensure adherence to all relevant instructions, guidelines, and policies.
  • Provide business plans and forecasts that reflect strategic initiatives, ensuring plan numbers are aligned with agreed targets.
  • Monitor expenses and test the affordability of plans including project spends as well as managing costs and potential savings to guide the country executive team in the delivery of expense targets.
  • Responsible for the oversight and approval of major cash and capital management transactions ensuring adherence to all relevant governance from a Group perspective.
  • Be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and managing local governance in line with Group requirements to deliver an effective control framework.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and fostering strong collaborative relationships.
  • Exhibit strong leadership qualities and set a positive example for the team through ethical behavior, dedication, and a commitment to excellence.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, professional growth, and collaboration.

Business AccountabilitiesAs Finance Business Partner CI Asia:
  • Be an active business partner for CI Asia and act as the point of contact for the business and CI Finance for financial questions.
  • Provide timely, robust, and high-quality insights relating to all elements of the business and contribute to the success of CI Asia.
  • Deliver detailed complex financial analysis in a manner that is understandable and achievable.
  • Support the development of the strategy and its implementation for CI APAC, help resolve business issues appropriately.
  • Build relationships with the countries in APAC, the regional functions, and CI Finance.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and fostering strong collaborative relationships.
Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree, preferably with a Master's degree or equivalent qualification in economics, mathematics, or accounting.
  • 10 years of experience in insurance, preferably in Commercial Insurance.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a management role with strong team-building experience.
  • Good knowledge of Finance processes and Finance data flow.
  • Understanding of Multinational Business and reinsurance is a plus.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Substantial experience in multiple functional areas.
  • Proficiency in Excel analytics/reporting.
