Job Description
As a Chief Financial Officer, support the CEO with total management of the company related to Finance and Accounting (Funding, Trade Financing, Budgeting, Accounting, Tax, Credit Management, other Risk Management, etc.), General Affairs, Human Resources, Legal affairs, IT in general, and Internal Control.
Responsibilities
- Mid-term management plan formulation and budgeting
- Monthly, quarterly, annual closing, and consolidated financial package to parent company
- Monthly business report to parent company
- Board of Directors Meeting Preparation
- Corporate tax and GST filing
- Accounting Audit Firm, Tax Agent relationship management
- Fund planning and borrowing
- Foreign Currency management
- Import and export trade settlement
- Commercial Banks and Insurance Companies relationship management
- Trade compliance management
- Internal audit and internal control
- Design of personnel system
- Design of human resource development and education programs
- Crisis and emergency management
- Implementation and maintenance of IT systems
Propose various solutions from the point of credit risk, funding money, accounting, tax, portfolio risk management, legal affairs, and personnel issues faced by the Company in global business to support smooth business execution.
Contribute to the company's profit or return through chemical trading by identifying risks from a financial perspective (credit risk, foreign exchange risk, country risk, structure risk, etc.) and propose hedge measures related to studying of investment and projects, providing solutions, and managing account receivables.
In case of M&A, conduct Due Diligence, evaluate projects, as well as to examine financing forms (including foreign exchange hedging). In addition, after the acquisition, manage PMI.
Work Experience
The following businesses at banks, trading companies, and other companies (it is desirable to have at least three experiences, if not all of them):
- Accounting, International tax operations
- Corporate Finance-related business (direct and indirect financing, market risk management such as foreign exchange rates and interest rates, investment and loan risk management, etc.)
- Import and export trade settlement operations
- Customer credit analysis, receivables management
- Audit and internal control services
- M&A business
- Human Resources, General Affairs
Other Qualification Requirements and Competencies
- The ability to organize issues simply even if they are complicated & difficult, and to make decisions quickly through timely and accurate discussions with proper related persons
- Language skills that enable smooth communication with the parent company and overseas affiliated companies (in addition to English, reading, writing, and speaking ability in Japanese)
- Experience in a Japanese company
- Expatriate experience in Asia other than Japan and Singapore
- Accounting and Finance-related knowledge necessary for performing financial analysis
- International tax knowledge of transfer pricing and tax treaties (PE Issue)
- Knowledge of the law and business of receivables management
- Knowledge of cross-border international trade operations
- Knowledge of corporate finance (market risk hedging such as finance theory and derivatives)
- Knowledge of trade compliance
- Knowledge of internal control
