Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Strategy & Leadership
    • Advise the CEO on all financial aspects of business activities, providing strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance across all business units.
    • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to ensure alignment with business objectives and long-term financial health.
    • Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial reports, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management review.
  2. Oversight of Risk Management
    • Provide strategic oversight and guidance to the Head of Risk to ensure effective risk management frameworks are in place.
    • Ensure that financial, operational, and regulatory risks are adequately identified, assessed, and mitigated.
    • Monitor risk management activities and ensure the Bank is positioned to respond effectively to emerging risks.
  3. Oversight of Treasury Functions
    • Provide high-level oversight to the Head of Treasury to ensure proper management of the Bank’s cash flow, liquidity, banking relationships, and financing strategies.
    • Ensure effective cash management and liquidity strategies are in place to support business operations and expansion.
    • Monitor debt management and funding strategies, ensuring they align with the Bank's financial goals and risk appetite.
  4. Financial Reporting & Compliance
    • Ensure the accuracy and compliance of all financial statements and reports, in accordance with IFRS or other applicable accounting standards.
    • Oversee tax planning, reporting, and compliance, ensuring that the Bank optimizes its tax position and complies with tax laws in all jurisdictions.
    • Ensure adherence to all corporate policies, internal controls, and statutory regulations, and report to the board on the Bank’s financial performance.
  5. Operations & Back Office Management
    • Oversee back-office functions including accounting, HR, settlements, and financial operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Implement and optimize systems and processes within the back office to streamline operations, reduce costs, and support business goals.
  6. Investor Relations & Stakeholder Management
    • Lead investor relations, managing communication with stakeholders, investors, and analysts, ensuring transparency and clarity on the Bank’s financial performance and strategic direction.
    • Oversee the coordination of due diligence processes and funding ensuring financial transparency and readiness for investor engagement.
  7. Head of Korea Desk / Relationship Manager
    • Serve as the primary liaison between the Bank and Korean clients, partners, and stakeholders ensuring smooth communication and fostering strong, ongoing relationships.
    • Represent the Bank in negotiations, business development initiatives and other key engagements with Korean stakeholders.
    • Leverage in-depth understanding of ECA financing and extensive deal experience to drive the growth of the Korea desk.

Key Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (such as CPA, CFA) are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience overseeing Risk and Treasury functions, with the ability to provide high-level strategic oversight and guidance.
  • Strong expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, with experience in IFRS or relevant accounting standards.
  • Knowledge of tax compliance and risk management strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and with external partners.
  • Experience in managing back-office operations and ensuring operational efficiencies.
  • Proficient in written and oral business Korean to liaise effectively with Korean counterparts and prepare management reports for Parent Banking.
