Chief Engineer

Job Description:

1. Takes charge of the entire engineering department, leading a team as they complete various projects.
2. Assist in site supervision works.
3. Coordinate internally with inter-department and externally with clients & consultants.
4. Coordinate project planning, documentation, and execution of works on-site.
5. Supervise & monitor the progress of the project works on site, manpower mobilization, materials planning & ordering.
6. Coordinate with the contractor and suppliers on all project implementation issues and attend site meetings when required.
7. Produce weekly site progress reports and necessary submissions.
8. Attend meetings and conduct site inspections on work progress to ensure quality control in accordance with authority requirements.
9. Carry out daily implementation of works at the site with assistance from fellow supervisors and foremen.
10. Plan and ensure all implementations are carried out in accordance with the Construction program.
11. Carry out daily discussions with the project team and fellow colleagues to ensure works are carried out smoothly and avoid re-work or clashes with other trade works.
12. Study all related construction drawings and prepare and raise any RFIs required early before implementation of the actual works.
13. Prepare any necessary construction method statements and technical proposals to ensure the smooth transition of works.
14. Ensure all necessary inspections in accordance with the client’s requirements are carried out accordingly, correctly, and timely.
15. Plan and sequence construction operations in accordance with the Project Quality Plan. Attend all necessary site progress meetings and internal meetings as required.
16. Keep track of submission status like shop drawings, materials, samples, method statements & all other technical submissions.
17. Carry out resource planning, machinery allocations, and equipment management on a day-to-day basis to ensure works at the site are carried out smoothly.
18. Coordinate and maintain constant communications with fellow colleagues from other departments like architectural, technical, and planning.
19. Liaise with the client’s supervisory department for site inspections, submission of necessary technical reports, and maintaining necessary records at the site.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
2. More than 10 years of working experience in the related field is required.
3. Proficient with AutoCAD and other office software.
4. Ability to work with tight deadlines.
5. Work closely with the project team to resolve technical issues.
6. Good attitude and communication skills.
7. Need to be stationed at the site (Jurong East).
8. Willing to work 6 days at the project site.
9. Experience in LTA projects is required.
10. Experience with high-rise buildings would be advantageous.
11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
12. Equipped with leadership skills to lead the engineers in completing the jobs.
