Chief Embryologist

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee day-to-day lab activities, ensuring compliance with protocols, safety standards and regulatory requirements
2. Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in optimal working conditions
3. Implement and monitor quality control measures to maintain high standards in lab procedures
4. Develop and review standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance with best practices and industry regulations
5. Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation bodies such as Ministry of Health (MOH) and Reproductive Technology Accreditation Committee (RTAC).
6. Conduct regular audits and participate in accreditation processes.
7. Supervise and participate in ART procedures, including IVF, ICSI, embryo transfer, embryo biopsy, cryopreservation, thawing etc.
8. Ensure the accuracy of gamete and embryo handling to maximize success rates.
9. Provide technical leadership and guidance to the embryology team.
10. Train, mentor, and evaluate junior embryologists and lab technicians.
11. Facilitate professional development opportunities and foster a supportive learning environment
12. Stay updated with advancements in embryology and incorporate new technologies and protocols as appropriate.
13. Ensure proper communication on results and provide information to patients and medical staff.
14. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment. Work closely with other departments, such as clinical, administrative and marketing teams, to ensure seamless patient care
15. Analyse lab data and prepare reports on lab performance, success rates, and outcomes for internal review and external presentations/publications
16. Use data to identify areas for improvement and make evidence-based decisions for lab processes

Requirements:

1. Applicant must meet the MOH requirements for the Chief Embryologist post.
2. Proven leadership skills and experience in managing teams.
3. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality and patient care.
