Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Chemical Engineer to oversee laboratory testing and waste management processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting chemical analyses, optimizing waste treatment procedures, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and contributing to process improvements. This role requires strong analytical skills, hands-on experience in laboratory settings, and a solid understanding of waste management principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Laboratory Testing & Analysis:

  • Perform chemical and physical analyses on waste samples to determine composition and properties.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate the efficiency of treatment methods.
  • Develop and implement testing protocols to ensure quality control in waste processing.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Record, analyze, and interpret experimental data to support process optimization.

Waste Management & Treatment:

  • Oversee waste collection, classification, and processing operations.
  • Develop and implement waste treatment and disposal methods to comply with environmental regulations.
  • Monitor waste treatment facilities and ensure proper handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Assist in developing sustainable waste reduction and recycling initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to local and international waste management regulations and best practices.

Process Improvement & Compliance:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization in waste treatment and recycling.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders to maintain compliance with industry standards.
  • Prepare technical reports, safety documentation, and regulatory submissions as required.

Research & Development:

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and advancements in chemical waste management.
  • Develop innovative solutions for waste minimization and resource recovery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in laboratory testing and waste management.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques, analytical instruments, and chemical testing procedures.
  • Strong understanding of waste classification, treatment technologies, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and other environmental management systems is an advantage.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in hazardous waste management and disposal.
  • Familiarity with spectrometry, chromatography, and other analytical techniques.
