Position Overview

A Singapore-based private equity firm (which intends to apply for a fund management licence) is seeking an experienced and dynamic full-time Fund Manager cum CEO, who will also be an Executive Director of the Company. The ideal candidate should possess a proven track record in private equity, fund management, executive leadership, and a strong understanding of international law. This role is integral to the strategic direction, growth, and operational management of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

- Develop and implement the firm's strategic vision and business plan.

- Lead the funds' investment strategies, ensuring alignment with market opportunities and investor interests.

- Oversee legal, corporate secretarial, risk management, compliance, tax, and finance aspects of the Firm.

- Oversee the firm's overall operations, including fundraising, investor relations among others.

- Monitor portfolio performance and implement adjustments as necessary to maximize returns.

Fund Management

- Manage and oversee the performance of the firm's investment funds.

- Identify, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities and risks.

- Conduct thorough due diligence, financial analysis, and risk assessment for potential investments.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with investors, portfolio companies, and industry stakeholders.

- Implement risk management protocols to safeguard fund assets and optimize performance.

Deal Structuring and Execution

- Lead the negotiation, structuring, and execution of investment transactions.

- Collaborate with legal and financial teams to ensure compliance and due diligence.

- Evaluate potential investments based on financial metrics, market trends, and risk assessment.

- Monitor macroeconomic trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments affecting

investments.

- Collaborate with legal counsel to navigate complex legal landscapes and mitigate legal risks associated with international investments.

Operational Management

- The CEO and other Executive Directors (if any) will collectively exercise effective control over the firm's operations through their controlling shareholding stake in the firm.

- Oversee operations including middle and back-office operations.

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practices, both locally and

internationally.

- Oversee financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

- Implement robust governance and risk management frameworks.

Business Development

- Identify and pursue opportunities for business growth and expansion.

- Develop and maintain a network of industry contacts to enhance deal flow and business

opportunities.

- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and in the media as required.

Qualifications

- The ideal candidate should either be a Singapore citizen, a Singapore Permanent Resident (PR), or hold an Employment Pass.

- Satisfies the exam requirements to be registered with the MAS as a representative of the Company to conduct fund management activities on its behalf.

- Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Law, or a related field additional qualifications viz. CFA or a legal qualification are highly preferred.

- Minimum of 10 years of experience conducting substantive fund-management activity in

Singapore, such as portfolio management or investment research in private equity. At least 5 years of experience should be in a managerial or supervisory capacity.

- Proven track record of successful investment decisions and portfolio management.

- Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a senior executive role.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

- Deep understanding of the private equity landscape, market trends, and regulatory environment in Singapore and the broader Asia-Pacific region.

- Strong understanding of international law and its implications on cross-border investments and operations.

- May be required to divest outside business interests, if the CEO is unable to adequately mitigate the conflicts of interest (whether actual or perceived) or reputational risks posed to the firm.
