The Centre Manager is responsible for managing and supervising a team of care staff and other staff to ensure the smooth operations of the Day Care Centre in compliance with MOH’s Service Requirements for Centre-based Care.
Responsibilities and Duties
Accountable for the day-to-day running and management of the Senior Care Centre to meet MOH’s standards of service deliverables.
Accountable for the optimal clientele build-up and sustenance within the expected capacity.
Maintain a high level of customer service and client/caregiver engagement.
Manage the waiting time for assessment, transport arrangement and admissions (including ‘Trials’).
Review the client’s general health and physical abilities (with input by therapist and nurse) and draw up an Individual Care Plan (ICP) for the client and discuss with caregiver the outcome expectation during initial assessment for admission. Thereafter to monitor and review the ICP of the client from time to time to track achievement of the goals therein.
Provide financial counselling on all available schemes of services appropriately for individual client’s admission.
Lead and supervise the care team to deliver care with group and/or person-centered [individual] client programmes.
Support staff and clients during conducting of programmes/activities; e.g. exercises, games, handicrafts, excursions, etc.
Be responsible for clients’ safety and care.
Track clients’ outcomes and satisfaction with individual care plans developed by the care team.
Conduct multidisciplinary case discussions with Therapists and members of the care team [including Nurse].
Engage and provide caregivers regular updates of seniors’ medical and health conditions.
Recruit appropriate groups of staff to ensure adequate coverage to provide optimal safe quality care delivery.
Provide and supervise on the job training with buddy for new recruits during the mandated provisional employment.
Analyse staff training needs and plan staff training schedule.
Organise the care professionals to undertake the proper handling of clients’ personal care and cleanliness; i.e. toileting; hygiene; etc.
Oversee the proper cleaning/washing of toilets and common areas inside and outside the centre.
Maintain financial accountability by reviewing, forecasting, preparing, and justifying operational and capital budgets.
Maintain inventory control of assets and consumables and ensure regular maintenance of equipment.
Secondary Responsibilities and Duties
Establish and oversee a volunteer group to support the conducting of activities in the centre.
Understand dementia issues and know how to manage clients who display behavioural problems [associated with onset of dementia].
Manage enquiries (in person at centre as well as through other means of communications) with timely follow-up.
Review programmes and service offerings from time to time to keep up with the demands of changing clientele requirements and eldercare landscape.
Participate actively in ad hoc projects either self initiated or by HQ to improve the quality of care and the brandname of PCF Sparkle Care.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor degree from an accredited University.
Preference will be given to candidates with a Nursing Degree/Diploma or Degree/Diploma/Specialist Certification in eldercare [or dementia care] from a recognized local or overseas institution.
Minimum 3 years of working experience in a hospital or eldercare setting.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Possess a passionate and sincere disposition to look after frail seniors.
