Who We Need

The Cardiac Technologist is responsible for providing physiomonitoring and Electrophysiology (EPS) support during interventional procedures and cardiac angiography in the Cardio-Vascular Laboratory (CVL).

Your key responsibilities are:

• Provides haemodynamics monitoring support for coronary angiography, angioplasty and other interventional radiological procedures.
• Performs Electrophysiology (EPS) studies in collaboration with the cardiologists.
• Assists in post catheterisation care of patients.
• Assists in code blue procedures in the cardiovascular laboratory.
• Performs ECGs, newborn hearing screenings and other non-radiation procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department (DID)/Cardio-Vascular Laboratory (CVL).
• Assists in portering, preparing and positioning patients for procedures.
• Provides administrative support within the DID and CVL departments.
• Provides on-call coverage for emergency CVL procedures.

How to Succeed

• Bachelor’s degree in Science (Biology/Physiology) or Diploma in Medical Technology (Cardiac Technology) / Biotechnology / Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Experience in Haemodynamics monitoring within an invasive laboratory.
• 5.5 day work week (42 hours per week).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
