CAD Specialist

Job Description

Mission statement:

Support engineering to assure cost-effective execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and schedule.

Your responsibilities:

1. You will be involved in Computer Aided design & drafting (CAD/CAM/CAE) work focusing on the documentation, illustration, and digital modeling of engineering design and processes.
2. You will assess engineering requirements and translate them into technical blueprints, drawings, layouts, and simulation models using CAD/CAM/CAE software, or apply standard techniques to digitize, edit, and revise engineering drawings of components, parts, and assemblies.
3. You will customize CAD/CAM/CAE software to model complex or unusual designs, create digital prototypes, and conduct design simulations to verify reliability/safety and optimize engineering processes.
4. You will collaborate with product/manufacturing process engineers by recommending changes to component design based on outcomes of digital prototyping and design simulations, providing materials lists and cost estimates.
5. You will take on responsibilities that may include working under limited supervision for non-routine situations and may be responsible for leading daily operations, training, delegating, and reviewing the work of lower-level employees. Problems are typically difficult and non-routine but not complex.

Your background:

1. You hold Vocational/ITE/Diploma training in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
2. Sound knowledge of AutoCAD.
3. 3 years of experience in power sectors is highly desired.
4. Fresh graduates will be considered as well.
5. BIM360 exposure will be appreciated.
6. Advanced knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience, which may require vocational or technical education.
7. Good understanding of transmission regulations and current H&S legislation.
8. Able to work in a team with good interpersonal skills.
9. Proven leadership skills, with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
10. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
