CAD/Inventor Technician

About the role

We are seeking a talented CAD/Inventer Technician to join our dynamic team located at Jurong West, West Region. As a CAD/Inventer Technician, you will play a crucial role in the engineering and design process, using your expertise to create detailed technical drawings and models that drive the success of our offshore operations. What you'll be doing

• Produce accurate and detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models based on engineering specifications and requirements
• Mechanical and electrical drawing experience
• Experience in arranging flat-pack drawings to send drawings for fabrication (sheet steel)
• Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data
• Produce draft and detailed designs and diagrams according to the given specifications
• Ensure all drawings are compliant with industry standards and specifications
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to interpret design briefs and translate them into high-quality technical documentation
• Maintain updated knowledge of AutoCAD software, drafting standards, and industry trends
• Assist in the production of parts list, BOM, reports, and schedules
• Produce and manage 2D & 3D drawings for various disciplines such as structural, P&ID (Schematic), General Arrangements and Layouts
• Able to read and understand single line diagrams, 3-view drawings, P&ID schematics, Power and Signal drawing
• Able to read and understand Process & Instrumentation Diagrams
• Experience in instrumentation equipment design
• Assist in the development and maintenance of drawing standards, templates, and libraries to ensure consistency and efficiency
• Participate in design review meetings to provide input and feedback on proposed designs
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of design outputs
• Stay up-to-date with the latest CAD software and techniques to continuously improve your skills and contribution

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree in Engineering Drafting or a related field
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a CAD/Inventor designer, preferably in the engineering or offshore industry
• Proficient in the use of CAD software, such as AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor for 3D
• Preference will be given to candidates who are hands-on and would like to help install brackets they designed or wire up boards they have drawn, from design to installation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Proactive problem-solving skills and a keen eye for continuous improvement
