About the Company: My Client is a leading provider of digital solutions for Smart Ships in the maritime industry, offering one of the most comprehensive, innovative, and reliable digital platforms for ship owners and charterers around the world.

About the Role: As a Business Development Manager, your role involves growing business by nurturing client relationships. You should be self-driven, able to identify new business opportunities, expand market presence, maintain strong relationships with clients, and cover the entire sales and marketing cycle with product experience in maritime software solutions. You should also have a deep understanding of the maritime industry and a network of executive profiles in the chartering, manager, and ship-owner offices built up over the years.

Tasks:

  1. Responsible for the Sales effort in regions assigned
  2. Develop markets assigned
  3. Generate sales leads
  4. Weekly and Monthly Sales updates to the management
  5. Manage and handle customers’ relations, feedback, and complaints
  6. Familiarize and keep up to date with market requirements and user needs
  7. Drive sales activities for existing and new channels
  8. Be actively involved in trade shows, trade advertisements, and other marketing communications activities
  9. Responsible for reports covering CRM, sales pipeline, activities, performance, and plans
  10. Responsible for bid management
  11. Work closely with the Group sales network to increase the commercial pipeline

Skillsets:

  1. Technical or commercial background
  2. Commercial understanding and business acumen
  3. Proven sales track record in the maritime business (Min. +5 years’ experience)
  4. Experienced in selling to shipowners and charterers
  5. Experience with direct sales
  6. Able to travel frequently
  7. Hunter type with ability to close the order
  8. Experience with selling software solutions
  9. Knowledge of Shipping and Offshore sectors
  10. Experience with energy optimization in the maritime business is an advantage
  11. Experience with marketing and production of marketing materials is an advantage
  12. Previous experience as a mariner is an advantage

Qualification:

  1. Tertiary educated with recognized degree qualification preferred
  2. Dedicated and ambitious
  3. Ability to act individually, but work as a team
  4. Good relationship management skills
  5. Excellent modern communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  6. Can-do attitude and strong execution skills
