Working Arrangements: Hybrid (3 days in the office and 2 days from home)
What will I be delivering?
You will be what we call a ‘sole contributor’ which means you will have your own sales target to meet or exceed within any given quarter/ financial year.
In a nutshell, we need you to have great conversations with many clients & potential clients, and with your growing product knowledge and ability to grasp a client’s true challenges, inspire their confidence in you and in YouGov as their research & data partner of choice.
If you do this. you will play your very important part in supporting YouGov’s already stellar growth story in the APAC region.
You will do this by:
Responding to in-bound leads with energy and clarity (YouGov is one of the most well-known and quoted research organisations in the world and we run a rigorous content marketing engine – white papers, rankings, studies of social interest to name just a few - to keep us top of mind with potential buyers of research and data in the region)
Identifying potential clients and their decision makers through researching and making proactive, out-bound reach-outs by phone, email, LinkedIn & networking.
Securing sales & discovery meetings with qualified prospects.
Leading your own sales meetings (with support initially from your Head of Business Development and other subject matter experts within the team) and confidently presenting YouGov’s solutions to a range of senior clients (usually marketers, strategists, research experts) in your allocated product sectors.
Delivering compelling presentations and proposals (with support & inputs from our Research & Data Products experts)
Conducting follow-up discussions & negotiations.
Closing business to hit, if not exceed, your quarterly and annual sales targets
Tracking your full volume of communications and activities in our Salesforce CRM - from opportunity initiation to close.

Commercially-minded – You have a strong desire to hit or exceed target
Sales savvy – You understand what a modern, consultative sales process involves and experience of generating qualified leads and conducting meetings with clients
Client-centric – you are a good listener; you are curious, and you love nothing more than helping clients solve their challenges
Great communicator – you have an energetic personality and get a buzz from getting your point across, both verbally and in writing. You take the time to get to know your audience and good conversations and productive meetings make your day brighter.
A proactive mindset - you can motivate yourself and get stuff done. You do not expect life to be handed to you on a plate.
Tenacity and resilience – you have grit and understand that good things don’t always happen or happen immediately. Even when disappointed, you learn and move on.
Education/Experience
Educated to a minimum of a bachelor’s degree level.
Some experience in a commercial role, preferably business development – applicants with a keen interest in understanding and selling market intelligence products and services
Some experience in Market Research, including but not limited to creating research frameworks and writing research proposals to help clients attain business objectives is a major advantage.
Experience with Salesforce is preferred but not mandatory
