Team Summary

Visa Direct is a payment service that Visa provides to clients (issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants, and service providers) to facilitate collecting, holding, converting, and transferring/disbursing to Visa endpoints around the world using the complete end-to-end Visa Direct, including VXBS payment solutions. Visa Direct consumer and business applications include person-to-person P2P transfer, B2B merchant settlement, FX conversions, payment collections, person to micro-business transfer (e.g., payments to landscapers), funds disbursement (e.g., insurance claim disbursements), bill payment, cross-border remittance, and more. Currently, the push payments market around the world is estimated to be an 80T USD opportunity.

What the Analyst, Visa Direct Business Development and Portfolio Management does at Visa:

This role will report to the Director, Cluster Head (IPVMC, Japan, India, Korea) for Visa Direct for Asia Pacific on the Visa Direct Non-Bank (Fintechs) and Non-Card Sales Team. This team sits at the cross-section of sales and product with a mandate to accelerate sales and net revenues for Visa Direct across the Asia Pacific region.

The Analyst, Visa Direct Business Development is a hunter role that entails prospecting and closing new business. The role will support business development sales activities to accelerate Visa Direct adoption and growth across the Asia Pacific region, as well as managing key clients (Fintechs and merchants) to ensure continued transaction growth and adoption of new solutions.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of building a new ecosystem in the fast-moving world of payments and one of the most important initiatives at Visa, including commercial deal origination for Fintechs on the Visa Direct Asia Pacific sales team. The role operates in a fast-paced, agile environment, so this person must be proactive and excel with internal and external partners to ensure we achieve our goals.

Projects you will be a part of and responsibilities include:

  • Provide support in achieving annual sales goals of Visa Direct.
  • Support development of the sales strategy for sales acceleration, including determining high potential client targets, use cases, and verticals.
  • Support the sales lifecycle from prospecting and sales pitch through to launch and ongoing account management in partnership with AEs and other cross-functional partners.
  • Account management of Visa Direct key clients (Merchants and FinTechs) to perform activities such as business reviews to monitor performance and identify areas of growth to upsell new solutions or capabilities and joint sales pitches with the Visa Direct Cards team.
  • Leverage internal and external relationships to identify, build, and maintain a robust sales pipeline to ensure achievement of annual sales targets.
  • Work proactively to overcome internal and external blockers to achieve sales objectives.
  • Work with Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Finance business partners to structure high-value commercial deal structures.
  • Support local, in-market sales teams with top priority sales initiatives.
  • Assist in providing insight and market intelligence to support regional lead generation and marketing campaigns.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Work with Visa Direct Product and Client Services Teams to support client launches post-contract execution.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs. Regional travel is expected 20% of the time.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Creative self-starter with a bias toward action and proven track record for successfully developing, building, launching, and commercializing technology products that delight customers.
  • Background in client and partnerships management, sales, and/or business development, preferably at a global or multi-market level.
  • Industry-related and leadership experience, including experience with commercialization teams, product management, strategy organization, and/or management consulting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong focus on delivering for clients.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written, and executive presence; must be able to interface with senior client executives.
  • Ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to audiences in an approachable way to influence and drive adaptation.
  • Passionate about what you do and excited about the opportunity to transform payments while working for the industry leader.
  • Possess a high level of professionalism and leadership skills to build business relationships, trust, and respect with business partners and suppliers.
  • Strong team player, self-motivated, and the ability to work independently at coordinating across functional activities and obtaining buy-in.
  • An advanced degree from a top school is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel modeling and PowerPoint presentation creation and editing skills and experience.

What will also help

  • Visa or financial/payment industry knowledge required; Fintech, remittance and money movement, push payments, or real-time payments experience is a plus.
  • Japanese business speaking skills advantageous as the role will cover Japanese speaking clients.
