Business Analyst (Banking, East)

Job Summary

The role involves evaluating and optimizing front-to-back control processes for Futures and Options products and the Clearing industry. The individual will lead ongoing reviews of business processes, develop Target Operating Models, and create Business Requirement Documents, User Stories, and Test Cases to support operational advancements. Key responsibilities include conducting stakeholder workshops, identifying risks, documenting and analyzing business requirements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Salary: Up to $7000

Contract Duration: 9 Month Contract

Responsibilities:

• Evaluating front-to-back control processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions with SMEs and other inputs.
• Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies for Target Operating Models, BRDs, User Stories, and Test Cases.
• Staying up-to-date on the latest process and operational advancements to automate and modernize systems.
• Conducting meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
• Communicating with all stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and validate the requirements for changes to control processes, within workshops, working groups, and other forums.
• Identifying, documenting, and analyzing business requirements against risk through process discovery and managing these through to completion or escalation.
• Analyzing the information collected in a detailed manner while working independently and as part of the overall team.
• Respecting and demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding business, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Knowledge of Futures and Options products and the Clearing industry.
• Experience of working across multiple disciplines within finance or a related industry.
• Examples of delivering process improvements and controls enhancement.
• Knowledge of Operations businesses/functions in an Investment Banking environment is beneficial.
• Experience in Data Analysis and data tracing through multiple systems from front to back would be highly beneficial.
• Experience leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) projects, including overseeing the development and implementation of the UAT test plan, scripts, and tools using detailed functional requirements documents.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to clearly document findings and propose solutions.
• Inquisitive mindset and willingness to work outside your comfort zone in terms of skills, time, or location.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain problems, capture team inputs, and work through to resolution.
• Knowledge and understanding of workflows and controls to enable leadership within the team.
• Ability to lead wider teams in proving the effectiveness of the process or controls.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, be well organized, and have great attention to detail, taking ownership of various parts of a project or initiative.
• Able to lead conference calls and produce meeting agendas, materials, and minutes.
• Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, and process mapping skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight contractual deadlines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate to a range of audiences and facilitate discussions.
• Willingness to ask questions, challenge the process, and seek out answers.
