Job Purpose
The Branch Manager, Track Infrastructure Maintenance, is responsible for leading a team of Engineers in ensuring the safety and reliability of the SMRT Track and Third Rail system through Preventive, Corrective and Overhaul maintenance, and timely renewal planning. The BM will also collaborate with other internal and external stakeholders on engineering and maintenance efforts and ensure system reliability.
Responsibilities
- Work in any of SMRT depots, tracks, or facilities.
- Work in rotating or fixed shifts (i.a.w. MOM guidelines).
- Provide leadership and management to Track Infrastructure Maintenance, monitoring system performance, identifying technical problems and concerns, and developing effective and sustainable solutions to deliver safe and dependable performance of the PWay system; ensuring that each system and sub-system is performing within the defined reliability targets.
- Ensure Branch KPIs and quality maintenance requirements are met, involving hands-on troubleshooting of faults, technical investigation, failure trend analysis, and interfacing with staff from other SMRT or LTA departments on technical issues.
- Review maintenance work processes to ensure efficient maintenance operations to deliver safe, reliable, timely, and efficient public transport.
- Analyse defect trends to identify reliability concerns, developing methods, proposing modifications, and improving maintenance strategies to overcome them.
- Review and update System Hazard log and Risk register.
- Identify and implement cost-effective technologies to enhance track and third rail system performance.
- Coach engineers to perform accurate diagnostics and develop sustainable engineering solutions to overcome reliability issues.
- Ensure the safety, welfare, learning, and development of the staff.
- Observe and report any safety concerns at the workplace.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronic / Civil / Structural Engineering from a recognised institution, with 10 years' working experience in managerial positions in a maintenance organisation.
- Previous Railway System experience would be advantageous.
