BD Manager (Freight Forwarding/Shipping/ Logistics)

Job Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities:

1. Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities and customers for the organization.
2. Lead customer engagement efforts and drive growth for assigned accounts in the region.
3. Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with all assigned customers.
4. Take the lead in preparing customer quotations and proposals.
5. Achieve targets and contribute to increasing the organization’s revenue, sales volume, and gross profit.
6. Implement business development strategies and tactics effectively.
7. Collaborate with management and leadership in developing sales plans, strategies, and tactics when needed.
8. Coordinate with local and regional product teams (including Air, Ocean, and others) to secure competitive rates for customer proposals.
9. Oversee and analyze the performance of assigned accounts, identify areas requiring action, and implement necessary measures.
10. Support or enable the expansion of assigned accounts both regionally and globally when needed.

Secondary responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with leadership and relevant stakeholders to implement both new and existing sales initiatives.
2. Assist with tenders, RFQs, and bids when required.
3. Foster positive relationships with internal stakeholders, including Tech, Product, Customer Service, Operations, and others.
4. Contribute ideas for process improvements and support the implementation of related enhancements.
5. Manage relationships with internal stakeholders effectively.
6. Execute and manage additional tasks as assigned by both direct and indirect managers.

Job Requirements:

1. Degree / Diploma in Business Administration or Sales & Marketing.
2. Minimum 5 years of customer-facing sales experience, with at least three years in a sales management role within the freight forwarding, shipping, logistics, or supply chain industry.
3. Proven track record in executing successful sales development strategies.
4. Strong working knowledge of freight forwarding and/or logistics operations and the sales process.
