What you do
The role is expected to work with a dynamic team to design and implement the Data Management and Governance Framework and policies and enable the bank to leverage data as an enterprise asset to support its strategic decision-making and actions. The function includes the following:
- Entrench standards and controls in the enterprise-wide Data Management and Governance Framework and policies.
- Work with stakeholders (e.g. Risk, IT, Business, Ops) to embed operational processes to support the policy objectives.
- Measure and report the effectiveness of the Framework and policies to senior management through the use of qualitative or quantitative metrics.
- Review results of the Data Quality scorecards for Critical Data Elements, prioritise gaps for closure, as well as identify owners and track status to drive the closure of these gaps.
- Support the secretariat role of bank-wide forums/committee.
- Work internally with stakeholders and Data Management team to identify opportunities for enhancements in data management capabilities, and work with relevant stakeholders to address operational or data issues in the data pipeline.
- Ensure data management processes comply with the Framework & policies.
- Work with subsidiaries to track the data management areas such as Data Lineage, and Data Cataloguing.
In addition to the BAU functions stated above, the successful candidate will take part in related projects of the department.

Qualifications
Who you are
- Preferably, you would have 3-5 years of related working experience in the areas of data governance, data management or data quality. Alternatively, 5 years of working experience in banking preferably in a governance or MIS-related role, or in business consulting.
- You would be experienced in data-related projects of similar scope and complexity involving data analytics and process improvement-related initiatives.
- You would have a general appreciation of data management and governance principles and be able to articulate how it can benefit data provenance & data discovery.
