Responsibilities
- Plan and execute Assurance Testing fieldwork, including QA reviews of Transaction Surveillance alerts, ensuring compliance with bank requirements. Clearly articulate and document findings, identify deficiencies and trends, and propose remediation solutions. Drive thematic QA reviews in SG and across regional locations to improve identification of suspicious activity and bad actors.
- Lead and support the implementation of regional initiatives to standardize and improve the quality of transaction surveillance reviews. This includes coordinating Assurance Testing/QA related activities (e.g. workshops, reviews), developing best practices, and ensuring consistency in application of procedures.
- Maintain awareness, develop, and deliver training materials of emerging financial crime trends. Support QA and the Standards & Training teams to uplift the quality and risk awareness within the Transaction Surveillance function.
- Support delivery of Transaction Surveillance related policies and procedures as necessary.
- Contribute to the delivery of the Transaction Surveillance transformation program, internal strategic uplift and key priority projects specifically to improve controls execution of Transaction Surveillance.
- Proactive identification of control weaknesses within Transaction Surveillance processes managed.
- Provide review and analysis of customer relationships to assess financial crime risks and the effectiveness of mitigating controls.
- Steer process improvements relating to post STR processes across Business Units, FCSS and customers to deliver quality risk decisioning and improve customer journey across regional locations.
- Participate in transaction surveillance related projects and initiatives. Support financial crimes-related internal audit and assurance testing. Undertake other ad-hoc duties as and when required, e.g., provide statistics and ensure accuracy of data, extract of documents for audit review.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any related field from a recognized university. Professional certifications (e.g. ACAMS, ICA) are advantageous.
- At least 6-8 years relevant experience in Financial Crime related functions.
- Knowledge and strong understanding of Singapore AML/CFT regime and international/industry practices
- Team player, self-driven, resourceful and possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with high attention to detail
- Possess strong risk awareness, excellent investigation, and interpersonal skills
- Having experience with Consumer banking, Institutional banking and Private segments is an advantage
- Ability to independently prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
