About the Department
Established in 1986, UOB Asset management (UOBAM), a wholly-owned subsidiary of United Overseas Bank, is the Asian asset manager in the region with award-winning investment expertise across different asset classes.
UOBAM is headquartered in Singapore and has an extensive presence in Asia with regional business and investment offices in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei, Taiwan and Japan. Our network also includes UOB Islamic Asset Management.
Job Responsibilities
We are looking for a driven and entrepreneurial individual who is passionate with institutional business and has an aspiration to develop his/her career in institutional business space. This individual must be a team player who is keen to play an active role in growing our institutional business. Desired personal traits include unwavering interest in excellent client service, ability to navigate through the emerging space, able to multitask effectively and collaborate with colleagues across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- An advisor to asset owners – Actively recommends investment solutions to existing and potential clients that meet their investment requirements.
- Proactively comb the market to capitalize on business opportunities that meet both individual and team KPIs.
- Proactively work to broaden relationships with institutional investors in Singapore, with the goal to establish and deepen relationships with both prospects and clients.
- Collaborate with team members for all client management activities.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for all relationships.
- Collaborate with RMs and Relationship Management Associates (“RMA”) to ensure efficient and effective workflows, including but not limited to the following:
- Coordinate and attend client portfolio meetings including internal preparation leading to the meetings
- Respond to clients’ enquiries
- Maintain of CRM database
- Assist with event preparations
- Develop and maintain proper business planning and tracking for assigned segments and/or businesses on timely basis:
- Individual annual business plan, 90-day Pack, Call reports, Client profile documents
- Work closely with other departments on client related matters and assists in ad-hoc projects (approved by SGI head) as required.
- Collaborate with relevant UOB Bank (“Bank”) businesses including business referrals to promote the Bank.
Client Service
- Work in close partnership with RMs to respond to clients’ enquiries and as an addition contact for all relationship servicing activities, including but not limited to ad-hoc enquiries and in-depth research of information regarding portfolios and operational related requests.
- Foster relationships with institutional clients – Focus on promoting positive client experiences by
- responding promptly to clients’ queries and requests;
- ensuring timely preparation and delivery of clients’ regular periodic reports, portfolio review decks and ad-hoc client communication and reports, with key focus on data accuracy;
- negotiating with clients and work with internal stakeholders to effectively execute agreements e.g. investment management agreements, subscription agreements etc.;
- managing on-boarding and off-boarding of institutional clients including periodic KYC due diligence;
- assisting with clients’ transactions; and
- providing sales support for cross selling opportunities.

- Ensure client documentation is updated on a timely basis and maintain on-going internal monitoring.
- Coordinate and attend client portfolio meetings (with RMs) including internal preparation leading to the meetings.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting or related discipline; from a well-reputed university.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience – Consideration for seniority (job level) and clients/prospects assignment.
- Strong analytical skill.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills – English and Mandarin (Would be an advantage).
- Ability to build the trust and confidence of clients, ability to strengthen client relationships through ongoing dialog and interactions.
- Ability to work well with others to accomplish client objectives.
- Resourceful, able to work independently and in a small team environment.
- MAS representative license.
