Are you a passionate storyteller experienced in writing speeches and driving internal communications campaigns?

We're seeking a self-motivated and collaborative Assistant Vice President to join our Group Corporate Communications team, reporting to the Group Head of Corporate Communications.

In this role, you'll oversee internal communication channels and drive content development, collaborating closely with the team and colleagues across the organisation to create compelling content that propels our key narratives and initiatives. You will also support internal communications efforts of our annual Group townhall and other key events and assist executive leadership in crafting impactful and consistent messages for various channels to inspire and inform employees.

As the communications business partner to our Group Engineering Centre, Group Technology Office and key corporate functions, you will provide counsel on communications activities; drive internal and external communications for key tech & innovation initiatives; upkeep innovation-related factoids; as well as manage and contribute tech & innovation stories for various channels.

As an integral member of the Group Corporate Communications team, you will champion or lead the internal communications practice area for the Group and support the function in capability building and training of best practices.

To be successful in this role, you will have to use your skills, experiences and understanding in all aspects of communications, speechwriting, digital media, video production and storytelling, while maintaining alignment with the Group's messaging and objectives. Your ability to write, produce and convey key messages in various content formats that resonate with diverse audience segments and drive readership/views will be crucial. In addition, having a strong interest in technology and innovation will also equip you to develop meaningful stories that strengthen employees’ knowledge of our key strategies and achievements.

Key roles and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Develop and execute internal communications plans and initiatives aligned with organisational goals.
  2. Manage and oversee the internal communications channels and content delivery such as email broadcasts, videos, etc.
  3. Manage executive communications and speechwriting on behalf of key executives.
  4. Craft impactful and consistent messages for various channels and formats (not limited to event speeches, video scripts, thought leadership pieces, opinion/editorial contributions, and memos to employees) to inspire and inform employees.
  5. Develop compelling editorial content on various topics about the Group including our innovations and the meaningful impact ST Engineering makes to enable a more secure and sustainable world.
  6. Ensure a regular cadence of high-quality and relatable content for internal channels, leveraging and managing content agencies and copywriters as necessary to support content production.
  7. Seek opportunities to maximise positive exposure for the Group’s tech & innovation initiatives and achievements.
  8. Arrange and oversee video and photography shoots with key executives.
  9. Manage internal communications budget efficiently.
  10. Supervise a communications specialist including mapping out their career development within the function.

Key requirements:

Education, experience, training: University degree with minimum 15 years of relevant experience in a large, global and matrix B2B organisation. Experience in a public relations agency is an advantage.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

This role requires the individual to be a self-starter, an efficient and resourceful problem-solver, with the courage to challenge the status quo and seek new and better ways of working or communicating both internally and externally.

You should also have excellent stakeholder and project management skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills. Your other strengths are self-reliance, a strong ability to juggle a variety of projects, and you have a drive for results.

  2. Strong project management capabilities, and a passion for excellence and innovation in your work.
  3. Adept at leveraging a mix of communications channels/approaches to deliver successful outcomes.
  4. Strong skills in SharePoint and employee engagement tools.
  5. Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the organisation.
  6. A strong command of English with excellent writing and oral skills, as well as the ability to develop compelling content for a variety of audiences and channels.
  7. Experience in managing large-scale events at regional and local levels.
